Where court met grass! & Saturdays Training game

Superb morning's football on Sunday where BHFC u/9 Black met the Pat /Fyn Futsal all-stars !!
consisting of 4 u/10,s 3 u/9,s and a lively u/8 !!
Black started  on the front foot with 2 early goals from Hayden P and Tobi ,B but the all-stars after 10 mins found a nice Rhythm and with Jordon E pulling the strings in the midfield a 25 minute domination followed . Black found it hard to compete with the midfield and getting caught  on the counter on numerous times, Jordon E netted twice and a superb strike from " WILL I AM" !   caught us " off balance and with Fynn completing the rout  we really looked in trouble . But Black fired back with another Hayden P maizey  run and Faith venturing forward more as the game went on girl power! found space inside the alstars box and levelled the game .A nervous last ten minutes followed and the game was now flowing from  end to end with both teams striking the woodwork ! (I think they are metal !) and with the clock running down the ball fell to the powerful right boot of Mitch P who thundered an un stoppable strike into the top right hand corner .It was a really superb game to watch and I think both teams came out with loads of credit , Black for playing against 4 u/10,s and the Allstars who had  never  played together before and a big up for Louie who didn't stop running for the 60 mins of football. Massive thanks to Dan and Pat for managing the team and for Jake for reefing the game, I am sure the kids and parents will want to play again during the summer.

SATURDAY TRAINING GAME

Great to see we had learnt from our Mauling from Belmont last month, I think we this time were unplayable as Belmont were last month and with Rudi,s team  going out and getting a draw against Harold Hill on Sunday proves that if you learn from defeat you haven't really lost .
The training development games against Belmont are going to be a permanent fixture throughout the yearly calendar 2 evenly matched teams and taking out the  win at all costs mentality can only be better for the players, the fact that no results of these games are ever logged or published means both coaches and  managers can play players anywhere on the pitch even their  goalkeepers and that can only benefit the kids. We have obviously  been doing this for 2 years and I hope that shows in our performances'

ROTATION ROTATION ROTATION AGAIN SORRY !!

"Our central defenders must no longer be ‘fixed oaks’ at the back but become all-round football artisans of the game who are able to deploy their skills with great effect in back areas, mid-field or up front."

TRAINING GAME SATURDAY/NEW FUTSAL NIGHT/SUMMER FOOTBALL

Firstly well done to all for doing the fun run on Saturday morning and participating ,  all the money raised go's to club and nice to see every one attended apart from Mitch ( who I ran for ) who with his persisting  knee problem me Gary and Faith thought it best he rests for a while to let it settle down. Faith had a problem with her ankle a while ago and rest seemed to have sorted her problem out I hope .On that note please tell me if your son or daughter is suffering with on going injuries as sometimes playing through them will lead to problems later on in life . As we have now finished our league games and the pitches close down soon im trying to use the games we play to put the kids in  different  formations  and see what they come up with .We played a wing back system which allows our wide players to play in a channel with two narrow midfielders and one player playing up top .I've heard numerous coaches saying you shouldn't use tactics with kids of this age group, I completely disagree, why not, you wont know if they understand it unless you try it and I definitely think we have the players to play this way . They  would understand how to play wide because we play the wing game in training sometimes so that has sown a seed due to the   repetition, last week at training with  Nick the FA tutor we played offside which they wont have to do till u/11 but why not do it occasionally now to allow them to have  had  experienced it and the nearer they get to 11 the more we will play it. All comes  down to what they call guided discovery where the coach puts the system or small sided game in place and  the rules of the game dictate how they play rather than me telling them. All these ideas come  from the youth module courses I have attended a great introduction into the way kids think at that age .The game I thought we played some really nice possession based football some of the pass & move was outstanding, the result was  totally irrelevant I wanted to see how we played giving the formation I challenged them with  and the answer was there for all to see.   Archie got some game time and we nicked  Bailey again !!!!!  . I like to keep everyone updated as to what im doing with the kids in training and in matches and I use the blog to get that out there as we all live 100 mph life's so don't get time to explain during training or a matches.

Futsal

Ive been offered by a local school Tuesday nights to set up another Futsal night as with Mondays bursting at the seems and I would really like to aim this towards 7 & 8 year olds the  only times available are 6.30 to 7.30 which im not sure if that's too late, so if you know of anyone that would be interested in these times and Futsal let me know .The Mondays will stay the same with mixed age groups

Summer Football

Some will be glad to put there kids football boots away for the summer but I know mine will still want to play so  I am also looking if enough interest is  there to do something on a Saturday over the summer when the training at BHFC stops open to everyone.  I am looking  at a  two hour training session the structure will be  same as we do now but with 15 mins ball manipulation and 15 mins on using there weaker foot.

BHFC 3-1 ######## LEAGUE CAMPAIGN COMES TO AN END

Another competitive Dorset division echo league match see us put to bed our demons in a   football sense  from two weeks ago and our session on defensive shape and recovery runs on Saturday  seemed to have hit home. Some lovely football played throughout the 5o minutes and at times our switching of play this season has been superb especially from Nathan who's range of passing gets better by the game. I think we are beginning to see the fruits of two years of hard work with this group being able to switch positions at the drop of a hat especially in the defensive third of the pitch. Mitch was asked to play on the right with Nathan W to his left Faith looks ultra comfortable in that sitting mid field role and allows our full backs to go forward if the space allows us .And Mitch, Nathan W and latterly Joe all did that The first goal was straight of the training ground !!!!!!!!!!! another Nathan corner curling into the keeper and the swing and power he generates causes even the most capable GK trouble .1-0 up and sailing but a little mix up at the back and PV equalised .They had a 10 minute spell of pressure and they had a couple of lively front players but girl powers !! speed and reading of the game never really caused us a great concern. Nathan put us 2-1 up but the goal of the game  definitely went to Joe Regan who had hit the bar with a header in the first half but this time from a Nathan corner powered into the bottom corner a great directional header and adds to our list of players who have scored with there head this year which is not something you see a lot at under 9 level .Hayden P got another un planned game and as we were short he  came back into the team due to a late injury !! .Double J had a fine game up top and worked really well with the other front two players as we rotated

THIRD EYE

Owain James has definitely been watching the dutch 70,s star  JOHNNY REP with  his  over head scissor kick the 2nd half , parental skills this season includes  Joe's ball control move and Claire's football free style tricks in an interview with sly sports after the game Owain said "Who,s Johnny Rep !!!"

MOMENT OF MAGIC

Cobys save at the end of the game , looked a clear goal but pushed onto the post and Joe cleared to safety

OPPOSITION VIEW

As Faith exited the pitch I heard the opposition coach say to his assistant " we have to take advantage now " that was at 1-1 !!!" Didn't he know these boys can play a bit as well !!!

So our league campaign comes to a close for our first BUCKHURST HILL FC season
hopefully a year they have all enjoyed as that's the most important part, our new signings Double J , Nathan W , and the u/14!! German have fitted in superbly with the other 7 and I hope they have enjoyed it. Not as importantly results have been very good our goals conceded has massively dropped especially at home without looking I think we are under one a game conceded  at home and every player has had at least two games in defence even Coby .

PLAYED 11 WON 6 DREW 3 LOST 2 AND UNBEATERN AT HOME

Things to work on over the summer , definitely weaker foot and I want to investigate if you can help a players speed development at 9 years old I know you cant with endurance as kids at that age haven't developed great  lung capacity but ill speak to some of the coaches at Orient and see what they do.
Futsal carry's on throughout the summer and we are bursting at the seems with about 23 who have been through the doors if I can find a venue I will be looking at doing one for the younger age groups but venues are hard to come by
