We created a system which we called ‘CTC’ — which stands for crossbar, touchline, communicate — and the idea was to get every player thinking about space and scanning. To scan or play with your heads up you look at the crossbar first, then either touchline and then communicate to the player next to you. It is a way to coach the players to find space.
