THE NATHANS SHOW /WING BACKS /INSIDE RIGHTS /SWEEPERS ...THINK THATS IT ...........

With Coby on a rest week Mitch P took the gloves and with my eye on up and coming fixtures I opted for The Blakes in defence with Faith sitting in front it didn't take long for us to go one ahead against a very depleted  team when Double J put us one up for his fourth goal of the season. As we have done since xmas I asked if we could keep it tight at the back for the first 15 mins to stop us going down to early goals . Joe Regan made it two after being set up  by Nathan W with a nice through ball and we was looking sharp and   I counted six attempts on goal in the first 15 mins . But they came back at us with a nice strike and then the game looked like it could swing either way. Just after half time Nathan who was looking more like a wing back than a defender had a nice interchange with the fig and we were sailing at 3-1 . They responded quickly but found themselves down to  only 6 players with 10 to go and we were very much in control of the game after that , Nathan B made it 4-1 and Tobi playing as the other wing back sealed the victory with a fifth although they did get another goal near to the end . As a winger myself many years ago !!! ALTHOUGH I STARTED AS AN INSIDE RIGHT !!!NOT MANY OF YOU GO BACK THAT FAR !! I have been watching over the last few years the emergence  of the wing back and something I wanted to make use of next year and definitely in the 9 vs 9 game at U/11 .Gareth Bale played it a lot at Spurs and closer to home Moses played there under Russell Slade at Orient and we have found another at the match room  named Dossena this season there main role is to defend but with pace can overlap creating an overload in the final third. With most of ours now being comfortable defending and were  definitely not short of goal scorers (we have 3 players with nearly 60 goals between them ) 3 naturally left footed players and a few who are comfortable using both feet definitely think we are well equipped to try this out. Back to the game got to credit to there manager Paul Howell with 4 players short I know a lot of managers who would of called the game off we were in a similar situation pre season when we had to borrow a few BHFC white players when we played Cheshunt Fc  im sure the game would of been a lot closer had they had there full team out .We had to change our system today by placing a player behind the defending two ( CALLED A SWEEPER IN MY DAY ) !! as they were trying to play balls over the top of our back two in to the space behind but Faith then Nathan W did a fantastic job of filling that gap without me having to explain to them so well done you two. Mitch looked comfortable in goal Hayden and Joe also created lots of opportunity's for overs to get on the ball and had there fair share of attempts on goal another goal for double j and The fig looked double lively up top .

OTHER NEWS !!
Great result for Belmont Blue who beat Loughton on Sunday but throwing this league upside down
its got to be the most competitive league in the echo with most games being won by a single goal which colours will be on the trophy come May 3rd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
